Spot Price Watch · Effective 2026-04-19

Short version

Spot Price Watch does not collect, store, or share any personal data. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no user accounts. The only network request the app makes is to Nord Pool's public data portal to fetch electricity prices.

What data the app handles

The app stores a small amount of information on your watch only, never on a remote server:

• Your chosen price region (e.g. Finland, Sweden SE3, Denmark DK1)
• Your display preferences (VAT toggle, 15-minute vs. hourly resolution)
• Your notification settings and thresholds
• A cached copy of the last fetched electricity prices so the watch can show something after a reboot or when offline

Uninstalling the app removes all of this.

Network usage

The app fetches electricity prices from Nord Pool's public data API (dataportal-api.nordpoolgroup.com). No authentication or account is used, and no identifying information about you or your device is sent in the request — just the region and date you want prices for.

Permissions the app requests, and why

• Internet / Network state — to fetch prices and retry after connection drops.
• Post notifications — to show the price alerts and next-day-prices notification that you explicitly enable in the app's settings.
• Vibrate — haptic feedback when you drag on the dial to select a time slot.
• Run at boot / Wake lock — so scheduled price checks survive a device restart and fire on time.
• Full-screen intent — optional; used only if you enable high/low-price alerts, so the alert pops up over the watch face.

Third-party services

Nord Pool Group operates the data API the app reads from. Their own privacy handling is not controlled by this app. See Nord Pool's privacy policy for their practices.

The app uses no other third-party services — no Google Analytics, Firebase, Crashlytics, AdMob, or similar.

Children

The app is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone, so it is inherently compliant with rules such as COPPA and GDPR provisions for minors.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data handling ever changes, this page will be updated and the effective date above bumped. Older versions remain visible in the repository history.
